Miss Congeniality had a few good moments, but I would not watch it a second time. One real positive was the final still picture of Sandra Bullock at the end of the film???she never looked better.
Interestingly, Charlton Heston lobbied heavily for the role of Sir Thomas More, but was not seriously considered. All of the landscapes were rich as can be in appearance and the animals looked as if they were fluid acros the screen as they moved. I wa?? impressed also on how well Planet Earth was filmed with a HDTV$camera. <a href=http://www.91s.cn/thread-11373-1-1.html>http://www.91s.cn/thread-11373-1-1.html</a> In other words, the writers of Miss Congeniality???Marc Lawrence, Katie Ford and Caryn Lucas (and these may be the only ones who were willing to take credit for the script)???did not add much beyond the plot.
Henry VIII's new Chancellor of England and Cardinal--Sir Thomas More (Paul Scofield)—stands in his way as well. Henry VIII wants Sir Thomas More's blessing in his action but does not get it as Sir Thomas More, a good Catholic and Cardinal, will not go along with such heresy. <a href=http://www.tscw.cn/bbs/home.php?mod=space&uid=99450>http://www.tscw.cn/bbs/home.php?mod=space&uid=99450</a> What makes A Man for All Seasons even more impressive is that the plot for the movie is based on the true story of Sir Thomas More. Sir Thomas More was a scholar and statesman who became the leading humanist of the Renaissance Era.
